Shahid Mahdi is Product Lead at energy & environment intelligence provider EnerKnol. At the company, he is the resident expert in the intersections of cybersecurity, energy, and regulatory & geopolitical policy.

His letters and publications (many of which can be found in the Selected Works + Press page) have been featured in The Economist, The Financial Times, The Financial Times Weekend Magazine, The Daily Telegraph, The Hill, Utility Dive, EVInfo.net, Windpower Monthly, NYU Global Affairs Review, and more. He has spoken at 1BusinessWorld, 1CyberWorld, New York Energy Week, the American Solar Energy Society, and EnergiMedia. He holds the O-1A Alien of Extraordinary Ability visa for his contributions.

Shahid earned his B.A. in English Literature and M.S. in Global Affairs from New York University. He most recently completed a further M.S. in Global Security, Conflict & Cybercrime from the New York University Center for Global Affairs with an emphasis on U.S. critical infrastructure and its vulnerabilities to cyberspace adversaries.

In his spare time, Shahid enjoys studying the histories of New York and his hometown, London; photography; horology; automobiles; biking; supporting Chelsea F.C. from near and far; reading creative and or historical non-fiction; and travelling with friends and family.
